One-Woman Play: Many Maps, One Voice (LWV-SC)

A timely new one-woman play set in 1960s Washington State! A Seattle housewife and mother of five dives into the lion’s den of redistricting to fight for equal voice for We the People. The political climate? Familiar: dysfunction, obstruction, partisan ploys. A lively, intimate look at the gears of citizen-driven change.

This play is adapted from the book Politics of the Possible, and tracks the redistricting journey of Mary Ellen McCaffree. Mary Ellen is played by veteran stage actress Jane Fellows (Belle of Amherst, The Trip to Bountiful, Good Morning, Miss America). Timely and timeless, Many Maps is a call to civic engagement, citizen action and civility in the ongoing voting rights fight inherent in the census and redistricting.
