Nominating Committee Members

General Timeline

  • Fall 2021/Winter 2022: Applications sought for current vacancy on the board and Nomination for current opening to be sent to the board as soon as possible
  • Fall 2021/Winter 2022: Nominations for positions elected at Council
  • Applications for Election at Council Due: Winter 2022
  • Interviews with Candidates Scheduled for: February 2022
  • Slate Announced: April 15, 2022
  • Election at Council: June 2022

Do you have a passion for the League of Women Voters? Do you want to guide the League forward?

The Nominating Committee is also currently seeking nominations for a director to fill a vacant Board of Directors’ seat to serve until Council 2022. The slate to be elected at Council 2022, which includes four Board of Director positions, the 1st Vice-President and the Treasurer. These positions serve on both the LWV of Washington Education Fund (c3) and LWV of Washington (c4) Boards.

We want to hear from you! Have you ever thought about service on the LWVWA board? Do you know someone that would make a great Board member? Let us know!

Service on the state board offers an opportunity to work collaboratively towards the goals of LWVWA, apply your skills and expertise, share your League knowledge with other League members, continue to build your leadership skills, help set the future for LWVWA, and expand your commitment to the League.

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Dedicated about our mission “Empowering Voters. Defending Democracy.”
  • Committed to LWVWA’s Strategic Plan, our Non-Partisan Policy, our commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Advocacy, Voter Services, Civic Education, and Communications.

We encourage individuals with varying work and volunteer experiences to apply. Those with experience in government, business, philanthropy, nonprofit work, or other volunteer experiences should apply. We seek individuals who are creative and hard working.
