Double Up Sample Letter to Friends and Family

We ask each of you to send a version of the message below to your family, friends, and colleagues.

Dear _____ ,

I am writing to you because I want to tell you about something that matters to me. I don’t usually send a note like this, but I decided it was important for me to do so now.

As you probably know, I am a member of the League of Women Voters (LWV), an organization I joined because I want to keep our democracy healthy and make sure that we all can vote, safely and as well-informed citizens. Here is a 30-second video to explain more.

This letter is a 3-way invitation. It is an invitation for you to:

• Join the LWV
• Participate in LWV activities
• Support the LWV financially or with skills

Each choice stands alone—or all choices can be combined. The important thing is that you choose one (or more, of course).

I will be sending you a few (very few) things to tell you more about the LWV, as well as what activities are taking place locally, within our state, and nationally, and will include a link to a page that makes joining, participating, and/or donating simple.
